Black Sherif capped a commanding performance at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) 25/26, with a remarkable act of generosity, pledging his Artiste of the Year prize money to support fellow artistes AratheJay and Gonaboy.
The award-winning musician emerged as the biggest winner of the night at the star-studded ceremony held at the Accra International Conference Centre on Saturday, May 9, 2026.

In one of the night’s most emotional moments, Black Sherif announced that he would dedicate his GH¢100,000 Artiste of the Year prize sponsored by Guinness to support AratheJay, while offering his album listening session to Gonaboy.
“Thank you Guinness for the 100k and the album listening. We for share am for the family right now. The 100k is for AratheJay and the listening is for Gonaboy,” he declared.
The gesture was widely seen as a show of unity within the music industry and a reminder of the challenges many emerging artistes face.
The 24-year-old star triumphed over top contenders including Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Medikal, Wendy Shay, and Diana Hamilton, capping off a remarkable year that cemented his influence on Ghana’s music scene.
He also took home multiple awards on the night, including Album/EP of the Year for Iron Boy, Best Hip-Hop Song for “Where Dem Boyz,” Best Afropop Song for “Sacrifice,” and Songwriter of the Year.
