The Eastern South Regional Police Command has confirmed the arrest of one suspect, with two others receiving treatment in hospital following a violent cutlass clash at Akyem Oda New Station.
In a statement, the police intervened after a viral video showed a group of young men wielding cutlasses and attacking one another.
Upon receiving the information, officers proceeded to the scene to restore calm.
Meanwhile, suspect Evans Adayele was arrested in his hideout to assist in the investigation.
The police indicated that a suspect identified as George Okyere, 30 years old, was found at the emergency ward of Oda Jubilee Hospital with a deep cut on his forehead and a severed right finger, where he is receiving treatment.
They further noted that another suspect, Paul Pascalele, was also found at the emergency ward of Akyem Oda Government Hospital with a deep cut on his right hand and is currently receiving treatment.
The Police assured that efforts are underway to arrest other suspects for further investigations and prosecution.
