Hunter shot woman in Okaniaase after mistaking her for animal

A local hunter in Okaniaase, Katanga District has allegedly shoot and killed a woman he mistook for an animal, Crime Check TV confirmed through Facebook post.

According to the report, the incident occurred when the victim was heading into the bush during the peak mango season to harvest fruit for sale to traders who supply major markets in Accra.

Reports further indicated that the hunter allegedly opened fire, later telling investigators he was unaware anyone was nearby, later she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crime Check TV reported that the suspect is in custody at Katanga District Police Command as investigations continue, stressing that identities of the victim and suspects have not been revealed yet.
