Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno has deployed Anti-Armed Robbery Unit personnel to Bono East and Northern Regions to lead a manhunt for suspects behind two robbery attacks on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
According to the police statement, the incident occurred at Sampa near Jato Zongo in the Atebubu District, where armed assailants attacked a fuel station, shot, killed two persons, and injured others after robbing the attendant of cash.
In a development of the incident, a group of armed men ambushed a passenger bus near Nasia along the Bolgatanga Tamale Highway, opened fire on the vehicle, killing two passengers and injuring others with gunshot.
However the police noted its commitment to intensify armed patrols in the affected areas, assuring the public that the perpetrators will be arrested to face the full rigours of the law.
